Keep unwanted shine under control with Maybelline Shine Stopper Serum Primer, a multitasking face primer that combines skincare-inspired ingredients with makeup-prepping benefits. Its lightweight serum texture spreads easily across the skin before transforming into a soft, powdery finish. As a result, it creates a smooth-looking base without leaving a heavy or greasy feeling.

Designed especially for oily skin, this innovative primer helps reduce the appearance of excess oil and blur visible pores. Maybelline reports an instant 70% reduction in oil and a matte look lasting up to 24 hours under its stated test conditions. However, individual results may vary depending on skin type, climate, and the makeup products you use.

In addition to its mattifying benefits, the formula contains 1% LHA and salicylic acid. These exfoliating ingredients help improve the appearance of uneven skin texture and support a smoother-looking complexion over time. Meanwhile, glycerin and sodium hyaluronate help maintain hydration, so your skin feels comfortable rather than excessively dry.

The primer also features perlite, corn starch, and silica-based ingredients that help absorb excess oil and reduce visible shine. Consequently, it works particularly well for hot, humid days, long workdays, and occasions when you want your makeup to maintain a fresh, soft-matte appearance.

Apply it alone when you want a shine-controlled finish, or use it beneath foundation to prepare your skin for makeup. For the best results, allow the formula to settle before applying your next product.
